After I took a peek at Casey Serin's blog today to check out his latest adventure, I ran a few searches for Foreclosure Help. Surprisingly the results for actual assistance were few and far between. There were many, many sites offering to purchase homes from those facing foreclosures. Lots of sites offering foreclosure lists. Sites offering help for those facing foreclosure....not so much.
My inner geek was a bit wounded by this. Hard to believe I can't assemble the correct combination of words to get good results for foreclosure assistance. Then it occurred to me that I'm in the business and can't find resources, what happens to people who are actually facing foreclosure? Where do they find help?
First step is to contact your lender. If you are struggling to make your mortgage payment, received a notice of default or are facing foreclosure, you really do need to talk to your lender. They don't want your home. Honestly. You can also contact me. I can walk you through some steps to take.

You're right, there not too many sites offering true foreclosure help to overleveraged borrowers. Maybe I can eventually morph my site into that after I get out of my mess.
