Foreclosure: You are not alone, stop becoming a statistic!

Foreclosure is an ugly word that many of us will never have to worry about. Unfortunately, for some, Foreclosure is a very real issue in the upcoming years.

As noted by Les Christie, CNNmoney.com staff writer, up to 1.2 million homeowners could lose their homes this year. A couple of the factors for the increase in foreclosures is the rise in interest rates on previously obtained adjustable rate mortgages as well as lowered house values over the course of 2005.   

If you are one of these individuals please understand that you are not alone, as I have described above.  The key is that just because you are in financial difficulty it does not mean that you need to be hopeless. There are many things that you can do to help your financial situation, keep your home, and possibly lower your mortgage payments!

If you are starting to have issues making your mortgage payment, behind on payments, or have received notification of foreclosure, do not hide from the problem and make it worse. Your best defense is a good offense. Educate yourself and help your future. If nothing else, at least you might be able to walk away from your home with some money in your pocket and better credit for the future as you work on starting over.
