Aspiring real estate mogul, Casey Serin, claims to be placing the final nail in the coffin of his blog and failed real estate career. Over the past few weeks, his blog has run the gamut from ridiculous (jetting to Australia) to pathetic (saddling wife with debt while jetting to Australia).
I've been following Casey's story since last year when USA Today ran a feature article showcasing Casey and his looming foreclosures. At first I was intrigued by his predicament. As the months wore on, his story became more of a carnival midway act and my interest in him and his future waned.
Recently Casey popped back up on my radar as rumors of his impending demise ran rampant throughout the Internet. I really have little clarity on where the truth lies with Casey. As the hole he found himself in kept growing deeper, Casey kept digging. What happens to him next will be interesting to watch.
Casey Serin represents so many things wrong in real estate and mortgage lending. He was seduced by the promises of real estate riches presented to him by various guru's who made their money selling their 'system' to people with little understanding of real estate business as a whole.
Yesterday I wrote about flippers who flopped. Casey Serin, the most famous failed flipper of all, is a product of greed. Unfortunately we probably will never totally understand just how many 'real estate professionals' had a hand in creating the car crash he has become.
I kind of wish Casey could have turned his failures into a more positive experience, but I wish him the best...

I think Casey is really feeling a lot of pressure right now and might not be looking enough toward his future. He is giving up so much by giving up the blog.

I wish Casey the best too. He has frustrated me over the past months but...he is young. I made some startling bad decisions when I was 24 and would hate to have those held against me for the rest of my life.

Casey Serin should be executed.
